The Bookshelf

The Bookshelf sampler done at last! It took about a year and a half of pottering around to finally get this done, and I am well pleased with the results (though not with the picture). I had a very hard time getting my photo to look right. I was in a hurry to get it packed up and shipped for Christmas so I didn't fuss with the photo as much as I might have. Still, I thought I would share this. Just know its much nicer in person.

This project started off with a pattern from Little House Needleworks. I made a few changes to this pattern to customize it for my sister-in-law Terri. Terri is a Jane Austen fan so I replaced the names of the other authors in the original design with a Jane Austen quote. I also replaced the book titles with all Jane Austen favorites, as well as a couple other tiny touches.

Here is a detail of one of my most favorite parts of the design I worked work on.

I haven't tackled any more big projects - I'm taking a break!
